Thanks to recent media, including the game Space Marine 2 and the TV episode Amazon's Secret Level, Games Workshop and Warhammer have reached unprecedented strength. With figures like Henry Cavill and WWE wrestler Shayna Baszler passionately expressing their appreciation for the franchise, the reach of Games Workshop IPs has expanded beyond what many imagined possible.

Many are aware that Warhammer is primarily a tabletop game involving miniatures that players have purchased, assembled, and painted on their own. They dedicate their time and resources to crafting their ideal army for battles against friends. I have personally spent numerous years collecting and playing through various editions. I began with Second edition in 1993 and have observed the recent launch of the 10th edition of Warhammer 40k. I've witnessed the "end" of the Old World, the emergence of the Age of Sigma, and the revival of the Old Worlds!
The initial Warhammer 40k video game, launched in 1992 by Gremlin Interactive, was a turn-based strategy game titled Space Crusade. It was soon followed in 1993 by Space Hulk from Electronic Arts, their first first-person shooter. Despite games like Epic Final Liberation and the Dawn of War series, none have truly captured the essence of a real tabletop game. This is where Table Top Simulator comes into play. Although not an official Games Workshop release, Tabletop Simulator boasts a large fan base that actively creates modified content for the Steam Workshop, which is where Warhammer 40k fits in. (And Many other games too!)

The main challenge with playing Warhammer 40k on Tabletop Simulator is the overwhelming number of assets available for download, which can make it easy to feel lost. Additionally, understanding the basic rules of Warhammer 40k and the specific rules for your army is crucial. Fortunately, Tactical Tortoise has compiled a collection of resources from himself and other users, providing everything necessary to play a complete game of Warhammer 40k at a Tournament standard.
I began exploring TTS for 40k primarily because my worsening disability made it increasingly difficult to leave the house. My ability to paint and build as I once did had diminished, and not being able to enjoy one of my favourite pastimes was really disheartening. Having already given up many hobbies, I was determined to find a way to continue with this one, no matter what!
With that in mind, let's finally get to the point.
The Tactical Tortoise website https://www.tts40k.com contains comprehensive information on getting started, including links to maps, numerous videos, tutorials, and live game streams. It's too extensive for me to list everything, but I can help simplify some aspects for you. I highly recommend exploring some of Tactical Tortoise's YouTube tutorials, such as the one below, to enhance your understanding of TTS and 40k.
