Days Gone is an action-adventure survival horror game developed by Bend Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released on April 26, 2019, exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic open world where players assume the role of Deacon St. John, a biker turned survivor in a world overrun by zombie-like creatures known as Freakers.

One of the standout aspects of Days Gone is its vast and visually stunning open world. The Pacific Northwest setting is beautifully rendered, with detailed environments and weather effects that add to the immersion.
The game features dynamic weather and day-night cycles, creating a sense of realism and constantly changing gameplay conditions.
The storyline is gripping and offers a compelling narrative that keeps players engaged. Deacon's personal journey to find his missing wife is intertwined with a larger plot that involves various factions and conflicts in the world. The game also delves into themes of morality, loss, and survival, adding depth to the overall experience.
The combat in Days Gone is a blend of stealth, strategic planning, and fast-paced action. (which i was rubbish at ) you can utilize various weapons and tools to take down enemies, including melee weapons, firearms, and traps. The uniqueness of the game is the hordes of Freakers, which can overwhelm players and create intense, adrenaline-pumping moments.
Aside from the main storyline, Days Gone has good bunch of side missions, bounty hunting and exploration. Additionally, also there is a dynamic AI system as well, which means that the behaviour of both the human enemies and Freakers can change based on the time of day or the weather, making encounters more unpredictable.
Just a Rico's top tip avoid night times

However, the game is not without its flaws. I have found the pacing of the story a little slow, as it takes a while for the story to truly pick up. The gameplay can also feel repetitive at times, with similar objectives and encounters occurring throughout the game. I also think the human elements dont provide enough challenging moments.
Overall, Days Gone is a solid game with a captivating story, stunning graphics, and immersive gameplay mechanics. While it may not revolutionize the open-world genre, it offers an enjoyable and intense survival experience in a post-apocalyptic setting.
