Later this month, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S players of Fallout 4 can anticipate an upgrade, boasting 60 FPS, enhanced resolutions, stability enhancements, and more. Coinciding with the recent premiere of Amazon's Fallout TV series, now streaming all eight episodes, the Fallout 4 new-gen update is scheduled for April 25.
For PS5 and Xbox Series X/S owners who possess previous-gen versions of the RPG, this update introduces a native Fallout 4 application along with Performance and Quality Mode settings, stability improvements, and the coveted 60 FPS gameplay. Meanwhile, previous-gen console users will receive a complimentary update, addressing stability issues and login/quest glitches.
PC players will also enjoy a free update, featuring widescreen and ultra-widescreen support, fixes to the Creation Kit, and various quest updates. Additionally, Steam, the Microsoft Store, and GOG versions will benefit from stability enhancements, mod support, and bug fixes. Excitingly, Fallout 4 will soon debut on the Epic Game Store, and when the update goes live, it'll be verified for compatibility with the Steam Deck.
Bethesda Game Studios accompanies the new-gen update with the release of free Creation Club items, including "Enclave Remnants" and "Makeshift Weapon Pack." The former integrates The Enclave into Fallout 4's narrative through a quest called "Echoes of the Past," tasking players with halting The Enclave's ideological expansion in the Commonwealth. The latter presents an arsenal of unconventional weapons like the Baseball Launcher, Nail Gun, and Piggy Bank, originating from an eerie Halloween party thrown by the New England Technocrat Society. Additionally, 38 new Halloween decorations, featuring witches, cauldrons, ghouls, pumpkins, and skeletons, are included.
Mark your calendars: the Fallout 4 new-gen update arrives on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on April 25.
